About Me
Ahmad Abbasi is a product design engineer and maker from Jordan. His practice is rooted in research and thinking-through-making. He utilizes hand sketching, 3D modeling, and state-of-the-art digital fabrication techniques to create functional and manufacturable forms.
Through his five years of experience in fabrication laboratories and incubators, Abbasi has accelerated over 50 products from ideas to physical prototypes. His design research focuses on material selection and optimizing user experience, aiming to innovate in both form and function.
Abbasi holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology and is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Transdisciplinary Design at Parsons School of Design. His thesis explores Design for Remanufacturing of Household Electronics. Furthermore, as a material research assistant at the Healthy Materials Lab, Abbasi is refining his expertise in material assessment, further supporting his thesis and professional practice.
